A lot of idol anime end up being the same or similar type of show with predictable content. Zombieland saga is not like that, it's new and interesting with great characters and absurd comedy. It's fun.
Sakura Minamoto is a high school girl who dreams of becoming an idol... right up until she steps in front of a speeding truck. She wakes in a strange building and discovers that she is surrounded by zombies. She flees and asks a cop for help... he looks at her in terror; it turns out that she too is a zombie! She is then helped by Kotaro Tatsumi, a rather manic individual whose idea to save the city of Saga is to raise various girls from the dead to create an all zombie idol group! Sakura gets to know the other girls and they start to perform; all the time trying to hide the fact that they are zombies from the public... something not easy when their heads occasionally fall off.

This series is without a doubt one of the highlights of the season. The premise may be totally bonkers but it really works. Of course these aren't conventional zombies; only one of them, the hilarious Tae Yamada, doesn't regain her consciousness; and apart from Sakura they all remember their pasts. Their characters are nicely varied and the fact that they were raised from the dead means they can come from different time periods in some cases. Their designs are impressive; they only look like normal girls when made up to go out in public. The comedy elements really work with plenty of laugh out loud moments in every episode. Overall I'd definitely recommend this series even if you don't usually like idol shows or zombies.
Zombie Land Saga (english Dub) Good Morning Again Saga
ZLS starts in a surprisingly unique way and with that twist right from the start it breaths new life into a bunch of cliche character archetypes, the whole concept'of the idols, and sets the stage (no pun intended) for a surprisingly good anime.
Weave in some good character development, foreshadowed/anticipated (but well done) plot twists and before you know it the the first seasons ends with a resolved story arc, a hook for the next season and a strong desired to see more.
I don't care and don't want to get into the idol anime genre one bit but this one idol anime named Zombieland Saga caught my attention real fast by it wacky premise and now after episode 3 it already earn a spot on my top 10 must watch of 2018 despite being an idol anime right from the get-go.What make it truly unique and funny is the idol group dub Franchuchou (ep2) already dead for a long time and just recently brought back to life in a mysterious way under a crazy but epic Koutarou Tatsumi.Watch it and you will find out how zombie girl bonding with each other can be so flipping hilarious and also long live THE LEGENDARY YAMADA TAE
Zombie Land Saga Debuts Season 2 Opening Theme: Watch
This is an interesting anime with a unique premise and decent animation. The voice acting is pretty good, and overall I have no problems with it.
Like a season has come out so far. I was planning on editing this review as episodes came out but I'm not going to do that. This show is awesome. The characters are great. Everything is great. Watch it.
This is how you play with people's mind, we thought this would be a traditional story of zombies and it that would be a saga of stories... i'm glad we were wrong about it.
Zombie Land Saga: The Complete Series
Here we have an idols anime with a complete twist, we are preented to 2 different worlds: Saga and the group. The group is presented as a dark representation of who they were in life with how their death resulted in life changes for everyone around them and for them as well; this doesn't mean it cannot have a good humor when it needs too. Most of the time there are jokes about their condition of zombies and how to deal with it to not be found, giving good laughs and good horror moments that works very well and even some drama vibes. Being an idols anime also results in good music, specially in the later episodes. All of this things mixed with all characters personality is very charming and leads to an absolute delightfull show.
Remember when i said tha they have good music, they do but in the first half of the story we have the same song over and over and gets a bit repetitive. The other problem is the attitude of their Manager wich is a bit hiperactive and sometimes not very compasive with them.
Before watching Zombieland Saga, I had never watched an idol anime. It's not that I had anything against the concept of the genre, I just didn't have an interest in watching any of the few shows I knew of.

Funimation Announces Zombie Land Saga Revenge Dub Cast
But when I looked at the anime of this season, I saw Zombieland Saga. And I had seen a clip of the first scene of the internet, so I knew what kind of show it was. And I decided that I was going to watch it.
The basic plot of the anime is that Koutarou revives 7 girls, who he gives the mission to save SAGA. They're basically zombie idols. And something I found very interesting was how important it was for the plot that the girls were zombies. Cause a major theme of the show was how idols have to hide their personality and relationships to be successful as an idol. It is pretty disgusting, to be honest, and I appreciate how this is the first anime I have heard of that tackles the issue. Cause the zombie literally have to paint over their skin to not scare the public. The only difference is that it makes sense for them to do that since the public would logically try to kill them.
But yeah it would have been easy for the creators to make them zombies so that it sticks out of the crowd just a little. But they thought of it a little more and made something great.
Zombie Land Saga Revenge: Season 2 [blu Ray]: Amazon.de: Dvd & Blu Ray
Something I didn't say in my synopsis is the era difference of the girls. Yuugiri, one of the main characters, dies in 1880, while Sakura dies in 2008. And the time difference shows a lot. You can see the different styles that the girls sing in reflect idols of the time. Again, they could have gone with it easy and just make them look their age. But they took time to make it a little more interesting.
So yeah. If you want to see a show that tackles issues that idols have, or just talks about idols realistically. Then this is the show for you.

I accidentally ran across this title one night while randomly scrolling through things on Crunchyroll. It said Zombie so I said, What the hell.
Zombie Land Saga: The Complete Series Review • Anime Uk News
What followed was a marathon session fueled by Red Bull that saw me make my way through the first and second seasons of this wonderful little show. This was followed by regularly watching the show over, in both dub and sub.
I'm insanely happy with it, except for 2 episodes which I feel break the whole narrative flow too much. Episodes 8 and 9 of Zombie Land Saga Revenge, just mysteriously dives into the past. Well, for that matter, episode 10 deals with the past, too. Now, I hold no ill will towards the Yugiri-centric 8th and 9th episode, I just feel like a single episode would have managed the story well enough, and got us back to what we are all watching for... Zombie Idols singing their hearts out.
The one thing consistent between the subs and dubs is the music. They made no attempts to translate the songs into English, and it's perfect the way it is.
Zombie Land Saga (english Dub) Good Morning Saga
Well, I shouldn't say no effort. Mysteriously in Episode 11 of Zombie Land Saga Revenge, they attempt to translate parts of a song, I believe it was Mezame Returner, but I could be mistaken, I mean it has been a day since my last watch through, and it was time for the subtitles that time.
All in all, I believe that if you like J-Pop, and are aren't put off by zombies played up for laughs, this is a great series.
There are some genuine laugh out loud moments, including a callback visual gag in I believe the 11th episode. It also has some really heartfelt moments, Episode 8 of the original season comes to mind. It's Lily-centric, and it really drives home what these girls are giving up to do what they are doing.
Watch Zombieland Saga (dub) English Subbed In Hd On 9anime
Give it a try, and watch at least the first three episodes. The first one episode really just introduces the idea behind the show (And gives the girls their one hard rock show). The second episode breaks randomly into a rap battle, that is sublime in its execution. It isn't until the third episode that things begin to come together, and the great idols Franchouchou are born.
