Rdr2 Animal Skin Stuck On Horse

After killing an animal in Red Dead Redemption 2, you can skin it for its pelt. With the pelt, you can sell it, contribute it to camp or use it to upgrade your Satchel by speaking to Pearson in your camp.

The only thing is that your character (Arthur) will carry the pelt in his hand, instead of putting it in his satchel. Meaning that you can’t ride your horse, use weapons or your hands at all whilst carrying a pelt.

Thankfully, you can store your pelt to take it back to camp, which you can see how to do below. If you want to check out some more guides for Red Dead Redemption 2, we have a dedicated area here.

After you skin an animal, you will be carrying the rolled up pelt in your hand. What you need to do it stow it on your horse, so that you can transport it. Carrying the pelt, walk towards your horse and choose the ‘Stow’ option.

Arthur will place the horse flat on the horses back. You can carry multiple pelts at once stacking them up, and then even carry an animal carcass on top.

You will need to retrieve the pelts from your horse later on. If you do an action whilst carrying a pelt, it will drop on the ground and will need to be picked up again.
