Bill Quay Farm is a treasured green space on the edge of Gateshead and since July 2013 it has been run by Bill Quay Community Farm Association, a registered charity, which operates the farm on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of the wider community.
Bill Quay Community Farm not only farms for food, but also to learn, preserve rare breeds and provide activities for the local community. All of its livestock is rare and indigenous and the farm is home to pigs, sheep, goats and ponies and recently developed a small mammal area with chinchillas, degus, Chinese hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, fancy mice, ferrets and more.

Cost: Entrance to Pets’ Corner is free, but donations for the running of Pets’ Corner and the parks are greatly appreciated and can be made at Pets’ Corner or the Visitor Centre.
The Rising Sun Farm is run by a charitable trust to provide social, environmental and economic benefits to the local area. The mixed farm is on 175 acres of land and consists of pigs, calves, poultry, sheep, ducks and small animals.

Visitors can see all the animals at the farm well as visit the livery, food house and day care centre. All of the farm's livestock are produced either for breeding or their products such as eggs, pork and lamb.
Whitehouse Farm Centre is Northumberland ’s largest family run farm attraction spread over 40 acres, located south of Morpeth and just a mile off the A1.

Vauxhall City Farm
Set in County Durham ’s countryside, Hall Hill Farm is an award winning mixed farm of 290 hectares offering a great day out for children and schools with loads of great things to do and see.
Visitors can enjoy getting up close to its different animals by feeding them, as well as taking part in rabbit and chick handling. Children can also enjoy donkey and tractor rides, puppet shows, crazy golf, and play in the Playbarn or outdoor play area.

This not-for-profit working farm is a conservation centre for rare breed horses, who have an important role in our farming and industrial heritage.
